All mineral protection with a sheer tint that evens your tone.
You want sun protection that blends into your skin without a white cast, and on most days you would rather skip foundation altogether.
Extreme Protect SPF 40 gives you broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection from two mineral filters, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, in transparent micronized form. It comes in Translucent, Beige and Bronze, so it can even out your tone as it protects. Vitamin E, centella and olive leaf round out the formula with antioxidant support, along with iS Clinical's Extremozyme technology.
Who It Is For
Anyone who wants an all mineral sunscreen with a natural looking finish to wear every day, including skin recovering post procedure.

What You Will See, and When
Protection starts once it is applied as directed. Used as directed with other sun protection measures, broad spectrum sunscreen decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun.
How to Use
Every morning as the last step of your routine, whatever the season, the weather or your plans. Squeeze out two finger lengths and smooth it evenly over face and neck. Reapply at least every two hours and each time you wash your hands, indoors and by a window too, because the film wears off; keep one by the sink and one in your bag.
The Science
Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are mineral filters that absorb and scatter ultraviolet light at the skin's surface. Titanium dioxide is strongest in the UVB range and zinc oxide extends coverage deep into UVA, so together they give broad band protection. Micronizing the particles is what makes them sheer instead of chalky.
Daily use matters more than any single application.
The antioxidant side of the formula comes from vitamin E and the triterpenes of centella asiatica (asiaticoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid). Centella adds antioxidant support and helps skin look calm.
Questions
Where does it go in my routine?Last, every morning, after your moisturizer. Wear it every day, rain or shine, even if you are staying in.
Which shade should I choose?Translucent is the sheerest. Beige and Bronze add a soft, skin toned tint.
How often should I reapply? At least every two hours and each time you wash your hands. The film wears off through the day, indoors too, so keep one by the sink and one in your bag.
Does the SPF in my makeup count?Treat it as a bonus, not the plan. SPF does not add up across layers, so this goes on in full every morning on its own.
Why a Routine Made for You Works Better
General advice is written for everyone, so it has to assume nothing about you. It can tell you what is safe. It cannot tell you what will work for your skin.
Skin changes when it is challenged just enough, then given time to recover and adapt. That amount is different for every person, and it moves as your skin gets stronger. Ask too much and your skin spends its energy recovering instead of improving. Ask too little and nothing changes. Finding that point for you, and moving it at the right time, is where results come from.
Where that point sits depends on:
-
Your skin: its history, how it reacts, and what it is doing today
-
Your health: hormones, medications, pregnancy and any condition that changes how skin behaves
-
Your lifestyle: sleep, stress, diet, sun, exercise and climate
-
Your routine: what you use now, and what has and has not worked before
-
Your goals: what you most want to change
-
Your expectations and timeline: how soon you want to see change, and what is realistic for your skin
-
Your consistency: how much time and how many steps you will keep up with, because the best routine is the one you actually do
-
Your treatments: what you have had and what you have planned
A skin therapist weighs all of this, builds a routine you can keep, and adjusts it as your skin responds. That is why we guarantee our products when they are part of a routine designed by one of our skin therapists. If you have been reading general advice, bring your questions. We will help you sort out what applies to you and what does not.
