Daily Power Defense

Stronger, calmer skin that stays hydrated all day.

Sun, city air and long days show up on your skin as uneven tone, dryness by afternoon and a barrier that never quite feels settled.

Daily Power Defense is the antioxidant serum that sits under everything else you use, helping skin look healthier, calmer and more even while it stays hydrated. Vitamins A and E defend against environmental stress, a plant stem cell complex helps skin look calm, and a plant polysaccharide complex keeps hydration going for hours. Enzymes from micrococcus lysate and arabidopsis extract support your skin's own daily recovery from sun exposure.

Who It Is For

Every skin type that wants a daily foundation for stronger, steadier, more even looking skin.

What You Will See, and When

In ZO's 12 week clinical study of 38 women aged 47 to 70, 92% said their skin looked healthier by week 2, and 92% said their tone looked more even through the day by week 4.

How to Use

Use it as your moisturizer, morning, night or both. After your serums, smooth one to two pumps over your face, neck and chest. In the morning, sunscreen goes on top as your last step. At night, you can layer a richer moisturizer over it.

The Science

Ultraviolet light and pollution create free radicals, unstable molecules that break down the proteins and lipids that keep skin firm and even. Antioxidants such as vitamins A and E neutralize them before they do their damage.

Sunlight also leaves small marks on the DNA inside skin cells. Skin has its own enzymes to clear them, and topical DNA repair enzymes, the kind found in micrococcus lysate and arabidopsis extract, have been shown in published research to help skin clear that damage faster.

Questions

Where does it go in my routine? After your serums, as your moisturizer, morning or night. In the morning, finish with sunscreen. At night, a richer moisturizer can go on top.
Can I use it with vitamin C or a retinol?Yes. Apply your vitamin C or retinol first, then smooth this on top.
How much do I need? One to two pumps covers face, neck and chest.

Why a Routine Made for You Works Better

General advice is written for everyone, so it has to assume nothing about you. It can tell you what is safe. It cannot tell you what will work for your skin.

Skin changes when it is challenged just enough, then given time to recover and adapt. That amount is different for every person, and it moves as your skin gets stronger. Ask too much and your skin spends its energy recovering instead of improving. Ask too little and nothing changes. Finding that point for you, and moving it at the right time, is where results come from.

Where that point sits depends on:

  • Your skin: its history, how it reacts, and what it is doing today
  • Your health: hormones, medications, pregnancy and any condition that changes how skin behaves
  • Your lifestyle: sleep, stress, diet, sun, exercise and climate
  • Your routine: what you use now, and what has and has not worked before
  • Your goals: what you most want to change
  • Your expectations and timeline: how soon you want to see change, and what is realistic for your skin
  • Your consistency: how much time and how many steps you will keep up with, because the best routine is the one you actually do
  • Your treatments: what you have had and what you have planned

A skin therapist weighs all of this, builds a routine you can keep, and adjusts it as your skin responds. That is why we guarantee our products when they are part of a routine designed by one of our skin therapists. If you have been reading general advice, bring your questions. We will help you sort out what applies to you and what does not.
