Brighter, smoother, clearer looking skin that stays calm.

Your skin is prone to redness and breakouts, marks linger long after a blemish clears, and you want a moisturizer that keeps shine in check.

Phyto A+ Brightening Treatment is an oil free gel cream moisturizer that brightens, smooths and clarifies while it calms visible redness. It pairs 3% azelaic acid, which helps keep pores clear and skin renewing, with 2% alpha arbutin to even tone, plus a 5.75% botanical blend of cucumber, thyme and olive leaf that soothes. Gentle enough for sensitive skin, it was studied across all skin tones.

Who It Is For

Sensitive, redness prone, oily or congested skin that wants brighter, clearer, more even skin.

Acne Safe

What You Will See, and When

In SkinCeuticals' twelve week study of 64 people across all skin tones, post blemish marks faded 20%, rough texture improved 19% and pore clogging surface oil dropped 28%.

How to Use

Use it every night after cleansing and your serums. Smooth a thin layer evenly over your face and let it absorb completely, then follow with your moisturizer.

The Science

Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring acid with a broad range of activity in skin: it helps normalize how pore lining cells shed, has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, and slows tyrosinase, the enzyme that makes pigment. Most published trials use higher strengths than this daily moisturizer, which uses 3% for gentle everyday use.

Alpha arbutin also slows tyrosinase, which helps new marks fade into an even tone.

In SkinCeuticals' twelve week study of 64 men and women with normal to oily skin across Fitzpatrick I to VI, used twice daily with sunscreen, the moisturizer reduced post blemish marks by 20%, rough texture by 19% and pore clogging surface oil by 28%.

Why a Routine Made for You Works Better

General advice is written for everyone, so it has to assume nothing about you. It can tell you what is safe. It cannot tell you what will work for your skin.

Skin changes when it is challenged just enough, then given time to recover and adapt. That amount is different for every person, and it moves as your skin gets stronger. Ask too much and your skin spends its energy recovering instead of improving. Ask too little and nothing changes. Finding that point for you, and moving it at the right time, is where results come from.

Where that point sits depends on:

  • Your skin: its history, how it reacts, and what it is doing today
  • Your health: hormones, medications, pregnancy and any condition that changes how skin behaves
  • Your lifestyle: sleep, stress, diet, sun, exercise and climate
  • Your routine: what you use now, and what has and has not worked before
  • Your goals: what you most want to change
  • Your expectations and timeline: how soon you want to see change, and what is realistic for your skin
  • Your consistency: how much time and how many steps you will keep up with, because the best routine is the one you actually do
  • Your treatments: what you have had and what you have planned

A skin therapist weighs all of this, builds a routine you can keep, and adjusts it as your skin responds. That is why we guarantee our products when they are part of a routine designed by one of our skin therapists. If you have been reading general advice, bring your questions. We will help you sort out what applies to you and what does not.
