Broad spectrum SPF 50 with a sheer, tinted mineral finish.

You want sunscreen you will reach for every single morning, with a finish that evens out your tone and looks like your own skin on a good day.

Physical Fusion UV Defense gives you broad spectrum SPF 50 from 100% mineral filters, 6% titanium dioxide and 5% zinc oxide, in a weightless fluid. Translucent tinted spheres adapt to most skin tones for a soft, even, radiant finish. SkinCeuticals adds artemia extract, a plankton extract included to support skin's resilience to heat and sun stress.

Who It Is For

Anyone who wants daily mineral protection with a light tint, including dry, normal, combination and sensitive skin.

Not Acne Safe

What You Will See, and When

The sheer tint evens your tone as soon as it goes on, and your protection holds for as long as you keep reapplying through the day.

How to Use

Shake well and make it the last step of your morning routine, every day, whatever the season or weather and whether or not you plan to go outside. Use two finger lengths for face and neck, and cover your ears, chest and the backs of your hands too. Reapply through the day, indoors as well, because the film wears off: tie it to washing your hands, and keep one by the sink and one in your bag. After swimming or sweating, reapply after 40 minutes and immediately after towel drying.

The Science

Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are mineral filters. Together they cover both UVB, the rays behind sunburn, and UVA, the longer rays that reach deeper into skin, which is what broad spectrum on the label means.

Physical Fusion UV Defense is labeled broad spectrum SPF 50 and water resistant for 40 minutes. It helps prevent sunburn, and used as directed with other sun protection measures, it decreases the risk of skin cancer and early skin aging caused by the sun.

Sunscreen is a film on the surface of your skin, and touching your face, washing your hands and the day itself wear it away. That is why protection depends on reapplying, not on how much you put on in the morning.

Questions

Where does it go in my routine?Last in your morning routine, after moisturizer.
Is the SPF in my makeup enough?SPF in makeup is a bonus, never the plan. Wear this as your sunscreen and count anything in your makeup as extra.
Do I need it on cloudy days or if I stay inside?Yes. Wear it every day, whatever the weather and wherever your day takes you, and reapply indoors too.
Is it water resistant?Yes, for 40 minutes. Reapply after swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying, and at least every two hours.
Will the tint match my skin?SkinCeuticals designed the translucent spheres to adapt to most skin tones.

Why a Routine Made for You Works Better

General advice is written for everyone, so it has to assume nothing about you. It can tell you what is safe. It cannot tell you what will work for your skin.

Skin changes when it is challenged just enough, then given time to recover and adapt. That amount is different for every person, and it moves as your skin gets stronger. Ask too much and your skin spends its energy recovering instead of improving. Ask too little and nothing changes. Finding that point for you, and moving it at the right time, is where results come from.

Where that point sits depends on:

  • Your skin: its history, how it reacts, and what it is doing today
  • Your health: hormones, medications, pregnancy and any condition that changes how skin behaves
  • Your lifestyle: sleep, stress, diet, sun, exercise and climate
  • Your routine: what you use now, and what has and has not worked before
  • Your goals: what you most want to change
  • Your expectations and timeline: how soon you want to see change, and what is realistic for your skin
  • Your consistency: how much time and how many steps you will keep up with, because the best routine is the one you actually do
  • Your treatments: what you have had and what you have planned

A skin therapist weighs all of this, builds a routine you can keep, and adjusts it as your skin responds. That is why we guarantee our products when they are part of a routine designed by one of our skin therapists. If you have been reading general advice, bring your questions. We will help you sort out what applies to you and what does not.
