Mineral protection that sprays on and turns clear.

Reaching your shoulders, back and neck is awkward, and you want mineral protection that goes on quickly and evenly.

UV AOX Mist gives you broad spectrum SPF 40 from 14% zinc oxide in a fine spray that goes on white, so you can see where it lands, then turns clear as you blend. EltaMD adds vitamins C and E for antioxidant support and aloe and glycerin for moisture. The air powered can sprays at any angle, even upside down, with no chemical propellants.

Who It Is For

Anyone who wants quick, even mineral coverage on the body and an easier way to reapply on hard to reach spots.

Not Acne Safe

What You Will See, and When

It turns clear as you blend and leaves skin feeling hydrated. It is water resistant for 40 minutes, as labeled.

How to Use

Every morning as your last skincare step: hold the can four to six inches from your skin, spray evenly until it looks white, then blend until clear. For your face and neck, spray about two finger lengths' worth into your palms and press it on. Reapply after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating, right after towel drying, and at least every two hours, indoors too, because the film wears off. Keep it in your bag and tie reapplying to washing your hands.

The Science

Zinc oxide is the only UV filter here. It absorbs and scatters light across the full UVB and UVA range, including long wave UVA, and stays stable in sunlight.

With any spray, coverage decides protection. SPF is measured at a set amount of product per square centimeter, and in a study of real application, using half that amount brought protection down to roughly the square root of the SPF. Spraying until the skin looks evenly white, then blending, is what gets you close to the tested dose.

Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate is an oil soluble form of vitamin C, paired here with vitamin E, to support the skin's own antioxidant defenses in daylight.

Questions

How do I open it?Twist the cap twice until the nozzle shows, then press to spray.
Can I spray it on my face?Spray it into your hands first, then press it onto your face.
Will it leave a white cast?It sprays on white so you can see coverage, then turns clear as you blend it in.

Why a Routine Made for You Works Better

General advice is written for everyone, so it has to assume nothing about you. It can tell you what is safe. It cannot tell you what will work for your skin.

Skin changes when it is challenged just enough, then given time to recover and adapt. That amount is different for every person, and it moves as your skin gets stronger. Ask too much and your skin spends its energy recovering instead of improving. Ask too little and nothing changes. Finding that point for you, and moving it at the right time, is where results come from.

Where that point sits depends on:

  • Your skin: its history, how it reacts, and what it is doing today
  • Your health: hormones, medications, pregnancy and any condition that changes how skin behaves
  • Your lifestyle: sleep, stress, diet, sun, exercise and climate
  • Your routine: what you use now, and what has and has not worked before
  • Your goals: what you most want to change
  • Your expectations and timeline: how soon you want to see change, and what is realistic for your skin
  • Your consistency: how much time and how many steps you will keep up with, because the best routine is the one you actually do
  • Your treatments: what you have had and what you have planned

A skin therapist weighs all of this, builds a routine you can keep, and adjusts it as your skin responds. That is why we guarantee our products when they are part of a routine designed by one of our skin therapists. If you have been reading general advice, bring your questions. We will help you sort out what applies to you and what does not.
