Soft, cushioned lips with a glassy, sheer shine.
Your lips dry out through the day, and you want something comfortable enough to wear alone that still looks polished.
The Lip Treatment is a universal sheer gloss that lets your natural lip color show through with a glassy shine. Five skin identical ceramides and cholesterol support your lips' natural barrier so they hold on to moisture, and two peptides help them look fuller. The cool metal tip feels soothing as it goes on.
Who It Is For
Anyone whose lips run dry and who wants a treatment they can wear alone or over any lip color.
What You Will See, and When
Lips feel softer from the first swipe. In Anfisa's one hour consumer study, every participant said their lips felt softer and more hydrated, and 94% saw a plumper look and fewer visible lines.
How to Use
Apply generously morning and night, and whenever your lips feel dry through the day. Wear it on its own, as a base under lip color, or over lipstick for extra shine. At night, a generous layer works as an overnight lip mask. Wipe the metal tip and the tube thread clean once a week, and keep it away from high heat.
The Science
The skin of your lips holds water differently from the rest of your face. In a study of 303 women, the lips lost water almost three times as fast as the cheek and held about a third as much surface moisture. Lips also carry fewer ceramides than skin elsewhere on the body.
Ceramides and cholesterol are two of the lipids your skin uses to seal in moisture. In a four week study, a lip formula with a ceramide like ingredient visibly reduced roughness and slowed water loss, even without a heavy, occlusive base. ÂN-GLOSS pairs five skin identical ceramides with cholesterol in the gloss itself.
Questions
Does it have any color? It is a universal sheer, so it adds shine and lets your natural lip color show through.
Can I wear it over lipstick?Yes. Swipe it over lip liner or lipstick for a glossy finish, or wear it alone.
What does it feel like?Buttery and cushioned, with a glassy shine. The metal tip feels cool as it goes on.
Why a Routine Made for You Works Better
General advice is written for everyone, so it has to assume nothing about you. It can tell you what is safe. It cannot tell you what will work for your skin.
Skin changes when it is challenged just enough, then given time to recover and adapt. That amount is different for every person, and it moves as your skin gets stronger. Ask too much and your skin spends its energy recovering instead of improving. Ask too little and nothing changes. Finding that point for you, and moving it at the right time, is where results come from.
Where that point sits depends on:
-
Your skin: its history, how it reacts, and what it is doing today
-
Your health: hormones, medications, pregnancy and any condition that changes how skin behaves
-
Your lifestyle: sleep, stress, diet, sun, exercise and climate
-
Your routine: what you use now, and what has and has not worked before
-
Your goals: what you most want to change
-
Your expectations and timeline: how soon you want to see change, and what is realistic for your skin
-
Your consistency: how much time and how many steps you will keep up with, because the best routine is the one you actually do
-
Your treatments: what you have had and what you have planned
A skin therapist weighs all of this, builds a routine you can keep, and adjusts it as your skin responds. That is why we guarantee our products when they are part of a routine designed by one of our skin therapists. If you have been reading general advice, bring your questions. We will help you sort out what applies to you and what does not.
